When the future feels uncertain
With everything happening in the world right now, I’ve been reflecting on the role of planning when the future feels uncertain.
It raises a question some people naturally ask:
What’s the point of planning if the future is impossible to predict?
But uncertainty is exactly why planning matters.
If the future were predictable, the path ahead would already be clear.
The destination — and the route — would already be laid out.
But life has never worked that way.
Jobs change, markets fluctuate, and life always brings surprises.
When the path isn’t clear, it’s easy to drift.
Like a ship in rough seas without a chart.
Financial planning doesn’t eliminate uncertainty.
It provides direction despite it.
Because the goal isn’t to predict the future.
It’s to know where you’re trying to go — even when the waters ahead are uncertain.
If this perspective resonates with you, I’m always happy to talk things through.
