What would you do with another $1 million
If you suddenly had another $1 million, what would you do differently?
Would you travel more? Work less? Help your children? Retire a little earlier?
Or simply spend more without wondering whether you should be saving it instead?
Most of us can probably think of a few things pretty quickly.
But here's a question we don't ask nearly as often:
What if you don't need another $1 million to do some of them?
A lot of people assume the answer to improving their finances is to keep doing more.
Save more. Invest more. Pay the mortgage off faster. Put more into super.
But sometimes, when we look at where someone is heading, we discover they're already on track.
And knowing that can change the conversation completely.
Instead of always asking, “What else should we be doing?”, you can start asking, “What could we be doing now?”
Maybe that's travelling more while you're healthy enough to enjoy it. Helping the kids sooner rather than later. Making a career change. Or simply enjoying more of what you've worked hard to build.
Of course, knowing you're on track doesn't mean the future is certain.
But having enough clarity about where you're heading can give you something surprisingly valuable: permission to make more of life today, rather than always waiting for some future point when you finally feel you have enough.
