It took me years to realise this…
The more uncertain we feel about money, the more complicated we make it.
An AI fund. A tech ETF. A dividend strategy. A defensive overlay. A bit of crypto “just in case.”
On paper, it looks thoughtful.
But sometimes it’s just a way of trying to feel more certain.
The financial industry will continue launching new products, and it’s easy to keep adding — especially when markets feel unpredictable.
In my experience, the strongest strategies are built on clarity, not complexity.
Not complexity.
Real sophistication isn’t about owning more things.
It’s about knowing why you own what you own, and being calm enough to stick with it.
Because the goal of investing isn’t to prove how smart you are.
It’s to reach your goals with the least amount of stress possible.
Sometimes the smartest move isn’t adding something new.
It’s simplifying what’s already there.
